Leslie Bertin

Leslie Bertin is a Canadian visual artist from Newmarket, Ontario who explores the medium of alcohol inks on canvas and paper. Bertin's work is inspired from the world around her; they are emotionally charged and rooted in capturing light and movement. She creates images that are a visual translation of emotion portrayed through light, colour, form, pattern and movement. She uses art to communicate without words, and tells story through colour. Bertin's pieces are full of nuance and portray the ebb and flow of rhythmical fluid patterns of coming and going, decline and regrowth. Her process is organic as she pushes the boundaries and possibilities of inks. Deceptive in their simplicity, people come to Bertin’s artwork with their own experiences and draw their own opinions on what they see.
