Welcome to the Society of York Region Artists!
We are a non-profit organization serving all of the nine municipalities belonging to the Regional Municipality of York in Ontario, Canada. Our home base is located in Aurora, Ontario.
For the past 39 years, SOYRA has been offering artists like you the opportunity to exhibit and sell their artwork as well as providing a strong base for artists to network and establish friendships with fellow artists and other likeminded creative people.

Aurora Pride Festival​
On May 31, SOYRA will be out in full colour celebrating the opening
of the 2nd Annual Aurora Pride Festival.
The festivities take place between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm. SOYRA members will be on-hand in the SOYRA booth. You'll find an amazing selection of artwork for sale. Come out to meet the artists who created it and join in a fun afternoon of music, visual arts, celebrations and more!​​​​​​​
NEW Plein Air Events​
'Painting all day. Come when you can, leave when you want.'

As ​we begin our journey into 2026, we continue to plan upcoming events for SOYRA members to participate in and enjoy. Judging by the show of hands at our January meeting, when asked about plein air, many members indicated they were interested in the art of painting outdoors. We were thrilled to see this! Moving forward, we have a new plan to offer interesting and unique plein air painting opportunities to SOYRA members!​​​​​​​
SOYRA Meetings at Aurora Town Hall

As of Fall 2025, SOYRA will have it's monthly member meetings at Aurora Town Hall, Second Floor, 100 John West Way, Aurora ON, in the SOYRA Gallery.
​
This permanent location is a great opportunity for SOYRA and its membership. Monthly meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of the month at Aurora Town Hall.
Doors open at 6:30 PM giving you half an hour to network with members before the meeting begins at 7:00 PM. Please enter on the 1st floor level and ride the elevator up.
